Although the 2010 Fireball Europeans finished almost one week ago, the job is not done yet. The main portion lies ahead of the cameraman and editor, Lukáš Brádler, who is currently busy producing the official film. No wind and relatively warm weather - that was the last day of the 2010 Fireball Europeans. With respect to the weather forecast, which did not promise much wind, the Principal Race Officer set the last possible time of launching to 13:30. The forecast filled up and so the regatta was finished at 13:30. Everyone had a chance to let dry their sails and belongings after the few rainy days. The pricegiving started at 16:00. The cups and prices went to the winners of all races, both all women crews, classic boat, the best mixed crew and top three overall. Tom Gillard and Sam Brearey were crowed European Champions. Tom Jeffcoate and Andy Thompson finished second and the best Czech team Jarda Werner and Pavel Winkler finished third. Although there were three races yesterday, sailors had enough energy to enjoy the mid week party. After the barbecue and three kegs of free beer, music band FIREBALLS started to play. Six guys in red sack coat made sailors dancing in the rhytm of rock'n'roll. And because the weather forecast said, that there would be only light wind today, party continued until early morning. The weather forecast didn't lie, so sailors who enjoy rather the light wind can show their skills today.
The competitors looked little tired this morning after the Midweek Party. Little lighter breeze filled in, and so the Race Committee could start the seventh race almost on schedule. The results can be downloaded here.
Sun is shining and medium wind is blowing. This weather creates an ideal sailing conditions at Nové Mlýny. The wind direction is north-west, which is much better direction then yesterday. Not only sailors will like it, especially builders of racing course will enjoy it. The race comittee has planed 3 races for today.
12-16 knots north-westerly breeze allowed the race committee to hold three races today, and so the racing is back on schedule. It has been Jeffcoate - Thompson on charge, as they have managed to win two races and finish second in the third one. Gillard-Brearey are still in the lead, closely followed by Jeffcoate - Thompson and Verner-Winklerem in third. Provisional results after six races download here.
Straight after the yesterdays pricegiving and a draw for interesting prices such as free beer or wine strong wind kicked in. The breeze has got even stronger during the day. At 12:00 the third race has been started off. Lot of boats were in trouble already on their way to the starting line. Only one third of the fleet has finished the first race, after which the race committee sent the teams ashore. There will be a skipper's briefing soon, where the decision on racing will be made.

When sailors woke up in the morning, the weather was better than yesterday. The wind is not so strong and it is not raining! The start is scheduled for 12:00, so sailors could relax after yesterdays opening ceremony. The ceremony was followed by dinner served by Hotel Pavlov and wine tasting delivered by Silinek winery. The cultural part was supplied by local traditional cimbalom band Notečka. There is currently a skipper's briefing under progress. The boats will be launching soon, in order to be on the starting line of the first race of the 2010 Europeans in time.
The first race started at 12:00 as scheduled in ideal sailing conditions. The second race was abandoned and restarted at 15:30. The provisionla results after the second race are here.
Strong west wind, intensive rain and cold. This weather has woken up competitors of the 2010 European championship on the second day of the regatta. From 9:00 measurement and registration continues for the rest of the competitors. The start of the practice race is planned to 16:00. This race will check up experience and physical condition of competitors and especially material. The weather conditions at Nove Mlyny seem really rough. So english competitors can feel just like at home :)
